The Speech & Writing Competition provides an environment for participants to gain experiences of courage, strength and modesty in a competitive setting, and encourages them to explore different perceptions of life. Adolescent learning needs encouragement and support from parents and teachers, and we wish to help our students achieve their best and help them expand their horizons.
The annual HESS National Youth Speech & Writing Competition celebrated its fourth year of success with more than 4000 nationwide entries to date. This event has received a great response from parents and students, and we thank them for all their support.
Before the contest students prepare an essay on a choice of given topics. In the competition they are judged on their ability to both write it and perform it as a speech in front of an audience.

The goal of the Speech & Writing Competition is to provide participants with the opportunity to perform publicly and to discover their own abilities in a challenging situation. Students really appreciate the benefits of their diligence when they apply their studies to real language use. This year, we welcomed and encouraged our HESS Honors Program, HESS Junior High English school and our HESS Young Scholar's students, to enter the competition. We have opened the door for more students to participate in this event', as a result of how successfully previous events' students have learned from this experience and each other.
