The Japanese Course is a ground up course that progressively builds students' Japanese reading, writing, listening and speaking abilities. The focus is on natural pronunciation and fluent communication. Small classes and interesting activities help the students speak Japanese spontaneously. Culture units teach students about Japanese life. We provide a certificate for qualified students.

Beginners' Course
There is a Beginners' Course for those new to Japanese, this is followed by Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Topic Based Courses. A written and oral placement test will ensure students are taught at the appropriate level. Every level is taught over a two-month period and contains 32 hours of lesson time.

The Beginners' Course covers the 50 sounds used in Japanese, the corresponding phonetic alphabet and simple sentences, vocabulary and grammar.

Basic Course
There are four levels in the basic course which include reading and character writing but which have conversation as the main focus. The goal of the basic course is to bring students to Level 4 of JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test), the standard in Japanese proficiency tests.

Intermediate Courses
There are two levels in both the Intermediate and Advanced Courses. In the Advanced Course students start to use news and current affairs as material and they will develop their composition skills. By the end of Level Two of the Advanced Course students should be able to pass Level Three of the JLPT. There are no set topics for the Topic Based Courses, these are designed according to the students' needs and interests.
