In our stimulating Western-style classes, students quickly become free thinkers who are creative and active learners. Our kindergarten children form strong bonds of love with their teachers during this crucial stage of development. Out of class, our Young Scholar’s and Junior High school students study very hard to master a difficult discipline. In our exciting and interactive lessons these learners develop as much confidence as they do knowledge while they blossom into effective independent English speakers. More and more students are discovering their talents in our excellent program of performances, competitions and activities.
About 2000 students enter the Hess Speech and Writing Competition each year. Students are judged on both their written essays and then on their public speaking skills as they deliver their speeches to an inspired audience.
These drama performances are the results of one of several special theme classes Hess offers our students. From reading the script in their second language through to spell- binding an audience with their dramatic performances, students gain the performing arts skills, the team work, the polish and the confidence they need to put on these 'mini Broadway' productions.
Students in the Show and Tell Competition were asked to write an original, creative story using one of several pictures as a starting point. Then on the stage, the students used their performance and story-telling skills to mesmerize a huge audience with their imaginative stories.
Hess hold Summer Camps in Taiwan, Singapore and Canada each summer for 1 to 3 weeks of active English learning fun. In addition to improving their English the students who face this challenge head-on gain independence and confidence.
Over 40,000 students to date have used this test to gauge their listening, writing and reading abilities. The Hess English Proficiency test enables students to gain competence and build a solid foundation that prepares them for future English language certificates such as T.O.E.I.C., I.E.L.T.S. and T.O.E.F.L. for North American university entrance.
Every year Hess takes groups of students to the USA, Canada, England, Australia and New Zealand giving them the invaluable opportunity to learn about the foreign study environment, language and culture through first hand experience.
