| Hess Schools |
| Hess has two kinds of school branches; Hess International Young Learners for pre-school students and Hess Language School (HLS) for elementary school students and above. Sometimes one premise will contain both of these types of branches. |

International Young Learners |
Our Young Learners classes typically run 9AM - 4PM, Monday to Friday. Students are aged between two and six years old and the majority of classes split the day into half English and half Chinese, although a few branches offer all-day English kindergarten.
Read more about Hess International Young Learners or to get an even better idea of what teaching a class would be like, watch Jean (chapter 3), Robbie (chapter 3) or Caroline (chapter 1) talk about and teach their classes in our “5 Takes on TAIWAN” film. Also you can get an idea of just how cute and clever our students can be in the Candid Kindy feature. |

Teaching Contracts |
There are two basic kinds of contracts offered by Hess. The 20 Hour Contract is a minimum of 20 hours of HLS each week. The 25 Hour Contract involves teaching a minimum of 25 hours a week. This is made up of a Young Learners class 2 1/2 hours every weekday in addition to 7 or more hours of HLS. For all contracts teachers are expected to be at their school 30 minutes prior to the start of their first class.
The 20 Hour is the best choice for those wishing to study Chinese or just leave themselves more free time to make the most of their experience in Taiwan. The 25 Hour Contract is the best choice for making and saving money.
